Il Neige, a lot!
S never had any intention of getting up for breakfast and today was predicted as being a slow start from quite early yesterday afternoon.
S is probably not the only one given that today was the only morning, so far, that I have found an ‘English Breakfast’ t-bag in the dining room. Just the one. No shortage of Earl Grey, Green, Ginger, Mint etc. The Pukka box was full of many varieties but bereft of Yorkshire, PG, Tetley or even, Lipton. Clearly you need either inclement weather or to get up early as a main stream tea drinker around here. The queues for the coffee/chocolate/hot water machines were rather shorter also.
If my reading of the lift and run openings is correct it is going to be a slow start generally though there do seem to be plenty enthusiasts walking past the dining room window towards the Jandri lift. For its part there appears no movement just yet. Visibility down here is not looking that great and ever so often there is a loud boom which I am interpreting as anti avalanche measures. Certainly the websites are saying there is a strong Avalanche risk today which rather follows from the traverse closure, quite low down, yesterday afternoon and nothing above that point is showing as open.
I’m going in search of the box of Tetley sourced from the Spar and a chill since S will not be leaving the duvet or doing anything more strenuous than studying his phone until there is a better prospect of his being able to see at least some distance towards where he intends to go.
