Toyah Willcox - Songs and Stories Tour

We went to see Toyah at the South Holland Centre yesterday evening.  More autobiographical (she has a book out) than pure concert (just as well given the venue) but the biggies were there including It’s a mystery, I Want to be free and Thunder in the Mountains.    Very chatty with the audience - I don’t think the staff from Costa in the box opposite us will be forgetting it, or meeting her in Costa earlier, for a very long while to come.  There was also a Q&A.

The audience were mostly of a certain age.  As Toyah said, we looked like we had been around in the 80s.  There were also some interesting hair colours and styles.  I was never one for a Mohican and my days of colouring my fringe with felt tip pens peaked in 4th form biology.  Since I only notice the grey when I am wearing reading glasses and looking in a x5 magnifying mirror I am leaving it as is.  Purple and burgundy do seem to be particularly popular at the moment.

Overall an excellent evening out which is not something I often say about Spalding.  Maybe I need to get out more!
