Completely confused - please comment!

Although it is looking a little low this month so far, in each of the last three months I have doubled my number of views.  These are no where even remotely near ‘influencer’ territory but I checked out the analytics anyway.  The UK is only just inching ahead overall and I suspect that may be, in some not inconsiderable part, S.  The USA is not miles behind but behind that is a worldwide mix.  As large land masses go it seems Greenland has absolutely no interest in anything I might have to say.  To be fair I get that.  It does, however, have me wondering who and why are people checking in.  How much do VPNs play a part?  I have no idea.  No one seems to be ‘following’ (then again I’m not sure how they would) and I have had very few comments.  The few I have had have all been Brits.  Very welcome they have been too save possibly for S’s!

So please if you are reading this, feel free to comment, introduce yourself, I would love to hear from you.

When others pass stress along, the answer is the vegetable garden

Well that was an exhausting week.     I complain regularly about 5am starts but seldom am I actually dealing with emails at 6.30am and 8pm on the same days and in succession. I’m not great on tech (despite what my parents seem to believe).    The basic nature of this blog may well be testament to that.    No doubt my more competent colleagues would rather I was better but for the sake of everyone’s sanity it is sometimes best that they assist.    This week, however, things were not really working for them either.    Upshot was I found myself logging in to a video platform for 2 days on my iPad whilst having various documents for reference on my desktop along side whilst providing (some might say playing at) tech support for another who was using my Mac to log onto the same video platform. By the end all appeared proficient but it was not a great start.    Note to self - my Mac does not have a touch screen! My voicemails ...

To Tapas or to Sightsee

We have a trip to Madrid with friends in the diary for later in the year.     In an idle moment, waiting for the kettle to boil, the iron to warm up, a washing load to finish and something to come out of the oven, I asked Chap GPT for an itinerary.     It’s pretty detailed and there’s some really handy stuff on there.     I haven’t asked it to drill down on anything as I just wanted the bare bones that we could all give some thought to.     None of us having been before.     There is quite a lot of it though.     Conveniently, it did suggest possibly spending a bit more time eating, drinking and chilling.     Now there’s a thought!

Boats and Sunsets

Image
We managed to make it over to Rutland Water to check on the GP14, (one of them, the other is in the MiL’s garage).     The grass around it was duly neatened up, everything seemed ok so we went and had a cup of tea on the club house balcony and watched the boats out on the water with clearly more active crew than us.     We have not managed to sail either boat this year.    Must try harder!    If we do not pull our fingers out and get sailing next year we really will need to be asking ourselves whether we should remove the boat from the sailing club and do something else with the fees.    It’s a very expensive way to get a relatively cheap cup of tea with a view. Discussion at the neighbouring table was about the strategic timing of one’s flu jab so you get the maximum benefit out of the 3 months decent immunity it provides.    I can only assume that these were people the NHS has determined the great British taxpayer will fund a...
